On a business where food is produced, also come various buyers. Every 3 days the truck of Friesland Campina to collect the milk. This milk usually is processed to fresh milk products in Lelystad and Kampen. The bull calves are sold to Jaap van Riesen and other livestock to Vion.
For agricultural products, we have a number of customers. Potatoes are sold to Aviko or Schaap. This depends on the variety that we have grown for either fries or table potatoes. The sugar beets are all sold to Suikerunie.
Without suppliers there is no production. The major supplier for dairy is For Farmers Hendrix. AgriTop keeps us well informed of the latest developments in the fields of concentrates. To keep all records of livestock, we use the Uniform Agri system. The cows are milked with the ‘Voluntary Milking System’ of DeLaval. The maintenance of the robots is done by Landbouwsluis. The grids are kept clean by the manure robot JOZ. In livestock we can not do without medicines and services of a veterinarian. For this we are guided by a veterinarian Bas Steltenpool. Free supplies for animals are provided by the former employer of Mariska Veeservice Idac. To ensure better public health, we use no antibiotics to treat our cows. Since September 2013 we have been using various products from Animal Health Vision.
Of course there are also many machines. Many components and equipment are supplied by Mechanisatiebedrijf van Engelen. We don’t do all the work on the land ourselves. Our neighbor, Loonbedrijf Visser Fisherman digs up the potatoes, compresses big packs of hay and straw. The digging of beets is done by Mark Geerling. Most of the activities in the livestock sector, such as grass and corn silage and manure spreading is done by loonbedrijf Johan Frens from Hulshorst.
